Exacta Feature On ITV News at 10
The recent turmoil in the global financial system has resulted in Nick Rogers, Exacta Technology’s Managing Director featuring on the ITN national News at Ten. Exacta was asked to comment by ITN’s news team, as a representative of the South West’s small manufacturing business sector, following the dramatic fall in the value of sterling against the US Dollar.
Exacta, based in Bristol, is one of the giant Intel Corporation’s Premier Partners in the UK, designs and builds network servers for specialist enterprise software development companies that require a large proportion of US manufactured components.
During the 2 minute news item, filmed at Exacta’s manufacturing plant, Nick explained how the latest exchange rate drop was likely to affect his business. “Clearly a 25% increase in the cost of our raw materials is not good news and we will need to keep a close eye on how this develops in the coming months. Fortunately we have a strong order book and we are confident that we can get through this.”
Nick continued “Whilst no sector is going to be immune to the economic downtown the areas we work in such as telecoms and security will still need to be maintained in readiness for when the recovery starts, which puts us in a reasonably strong position.”
Exacta provides bespoke manufacturing services for a wide range of IT companies whose products form a crucial element of the network infrastructure for large enterprises and government departments.
